I am honoured to be afforded the privilege of being appointed to lead Green Bay School as your new Principal. Taking up this position is refreshing for me and I look forward to new challenges ahead.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to the Green Bay Community. I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than thirty years. During this time, I have taught in Primary and Intermediate School settings. I hold a Bachelor of Pedagogics Degree in Primary Education and a Diploma in Educational Management. My wife, Sandra, and I immigrated to New Zealand from South Africa with our three children in the nineties. We settled in Taumarunui and quickly developed a strong link with the Community through our work as teachers at the local schools. A year into our arrival, I was appointed Deputy Principal at Tarrangower Primary School (Taumarunui). As exciting as this new role was for me, Sandra and I made the decision to move to Auckland so that we could be closer to our children who intended to complete their studies at the University of Auckland. In 2002 I took up a senior teacher position at Blockhouse Bay Intermediate, where I was placed for the last thirteen years, six of which, I served as Deputy Principal.
It is my belief that every child deserves a high quality education in an environment where they feel safe and valued. I will continue to build upon the foundation of high expectations that have been set to propel our students and school community to greater academic and social success. Maintaining strong student, parent, teacher relationships will continue to be an integral part of our school It is my hope that we will continue to work together to provide our students with the best possible opportunities in preparing them to be global citizens, ready to face the challenges of the 21st century with a solid foundation created here at our school. I am a firm believer in providing students with opportunities to develop themselves as lifelong learners. As a school, we also need to keep in mind the changes occurring in education and be able to introduce up to date learning opportunities to all our students so that they can take their rightful place in society. I look forward to working with the Board, staff, students, parents, caregivers and the community to make Green Bay School a school of choice. If I can ever be of assistance, please feel free to contact me with your questions, comments or concerns. Working together in a collaborative learning community with consistent, honest, and open communication, we can continue to accomplish great things at Green Bay School.
Once again, I look forward to fostering a positive partnership with you to ensure our children's success at our school.

Warmest Regards,
Anand Muthoo
